I am an Audrey

You are an Audrey -- "I am at peace"

http://helloquizzy.okcupid.com/tests/are-you-a-jackie-or-a-marilyn-or-someone-else-mad-menera-female-icon-quiz

Audreys are receptive, good-natured, and supportive. They seek union with others and the world around them.

How to Get Along with Me
* If you want me to do something, how you ask is important. I especially don't like expectations or pressure
* I like to listen and to be of service, but don't take advantage of this
* Listen until I finish speaking, even though I meander a bit
* Give me time to finish things and make decisions. It's OK to nudge me gently and nonjudgmentally
* Ask me questions to help me get clear
* Tell me when you like how I look. I'm not averse to flattery
* Hug me, show physical affection. It opens me up to my feelings
* I like a good discussion but not a confrontation
* Let me know you like what I've done or said
* Laugh with me and share in my enjoyment of life

What I Like About Being an Audrey
* being nonjudgmental and accepting
* caring for and being concerned about others
* being able to relax and have a good time
* knowing that most people enjoy my company; I'm easy to be around
* my ability to see many different sides of an issue and to be a good mediator and facilitator
* my heightened awareness of sensations, aesthetics, and the here and now
* being able to go with the flow and feel one with the universe

What's Hard About Being an Audrey
* being judged and misunderstood for being placid and/or indecisive
* being critical of myself for lacking initiative and discipline
* being too sensitive to criticism; taking every raised eyebrow and twitch of the mouth personally
* being confused about what I really want
* caring too much about what others will think of me
* not being listened to or taken seriously

Audreys as Children Often
* feel ignored and that their wants, opinions, and feelings are unimportant
* tune out a lot, especially when others argue
* are "good" children: deny anger or keep it to themselves

Audreys as Parents
* are supportive, kind, and warm

Pandas

TGIF!!

Some random thigs:
  • I love all animals, but Pandas are my ultimate favorite!I still have my favorite stuffed animal panda, Ling-ling. He lost his eyes and nose a while ago due to encounter with my parent's dog, but he is the perfect shape to cuddle up to :).

  • I am diggin the snuggie. https://www.getsnuggie.com/flare/next *Score! a free book lamp!*

  • I am getting my 2nd ever professional massage tomorrow!! This time with hot and cold stones :)

  • My puppy Boomer went to the groomers yesterday and because his tail was matted, they had to trim it really short at the base...and I cannot stop laughing...it looks like a Dr. Seuss tree! Poor baby!
  • Working for JCPenney Corporate, I open up the internet this morning to our home page and see our latest marketing campaign. The message is about a man beng put in the doghouse by his wife or gf and in order to redeem himself he should buy her jewelry from JCP. I saw an article about it a while back and the feedback seemed to be split down the middle- some thought it was funny, while others thought it was degrading. For the most part I think its funny and clever, check it out http://bewareofthedoghouse.com/default.aspx
  • Did I mention its friday??! Woop Woop!

First Mondays

This weekend I finally made my first trip out to Canton, TX for the
first monday trade days. I really thought I knew how big this thing was, but people were right when they said it is impossible to cover the entire grounds in one day. It is the biggest and best flea-market-funnel-cake-people-watching-extravaganza you could ever imagine!! There were hardcore regulars, people with carts (or scooters) filled to the brim and entire family in tow... including thier dogs. The food was amazingly bad= sooo good; I think we did pretty good with our choices of homemade lemonade, loaded baked potatoes and a chocolate shake :). We did our best to take it all in and explore the unending-ness in a total of 6 hours.

Funny thing is, we started out at what actually ended up being my favorite section of the place: the antique, trash to treasure, garage sale area. I made some very exciting finds! Got an old camera for my mom's "travel" themed room, vintage scarfs, a shelf, some old paint chipped windows, a piece of rusty tin, and some other various items. AND i *love* them all! Not only was my body aching by afternoon, but my mind was exhausted from all of the sensory overload! I can't wait to go back :)
